Location: The county hugs the river’s eastern edge, with towns like Oquawka, Gladstone, and Gulfport offering classic riverfront views and access.
Landscape Features: The inland area includes rich bottomland forests, wetlands, and agricultural fields.
Henderson County is home to more than 6,000 acres of public conservation land and nearly 200,000 acres of private farmland along the Mississippi River. FOHCWL works with partners and volunteers to enhance these lands through tree planting, food plots, and wood duck box installations.
